Bhramaram View Point

Kulachivayal rocks is recently known as the ‘Bhramaram rock’ where the Malayalam movie ‘Bhramaram’ was shot. It gives you an aerial view of Anchunadu and if it’s clear day, you can see the windmills of Tamil Nadu from here.

Anamudi Shola National Park

Previously called the Mannavan Shola (Forest of the king), Anamudi Shola National Park is an evergreen forest with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Giant ferns are the specialties of this national park.

Water Falls

Want to feel the chillness of water coming all the way from the Shola forests? Come over and have a bath under the waterfalls of Keezhanthoor located 2 kms away from the junction. Make sure you don’t litter its surroundings.

Sri Rama Cave Temple

This temple is an integral part of the history of Kanthaloor. The temple is in a natural cave. You can see the bed of Rama inside the temple. The temple remains open every Tuesday. Located at Perumala, 2 kms from Kanthalloor Junction.

A visit to vegetable farms is the most exciting thing that you could find. You can buy fresh vegetables directly plucked in front of you at affordable rates. You can also be a part of the harvest

Muniyara (Dolmens)

Also called Muniyaras, these dolmens belong to the stone age. These dolmenoids were burial chambers made of four stones placed on edge and covered by a fifth stone called the cap stone.

Marayoor Sandal Forest

Marayoor is the only place in Kerala with a natural growth of sandalwood trees. The sandalwood factory run by the Forest Department is of tourist interest

Thoovanam Water Falls

You can see this gorgeous waterfalls on the way to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. You can have a trek to this fall and your trek will be accompanied by forest guards. Want to spend a night in a cottage near the falls? You have a provision for that too.

Marayoor Jaggery

It is an organic product and is mainly used for ayurvedic medicines and temple pooja. Jaggery production is considered to be a cottage industry in this part of the world and is traditionally made in the respective farms. Initially, the sugar cane juice is heated in a huge vessel. It is then boiled and condensed to form high-quality jaggery balls. You can see a number of jaggery producing centres on the way to Kanthalloor.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary

This place is 20 km away from Kanthalloor and is located in Kerala-Tamilnadu border. Night time jeep trekking available to see the wildlife. Giant grizzled squirrel and star tortoise are some of the rare species in this sanctuary.
